Places to Visit while on tour: Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Paro
Day 1: Arrival in Bhutan – Paro to Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Along the way, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, a historic temple known for its iron chain bridge. In Thimphu, visit the majestic Buddha Dordenma, a towering golden statue overlooking the valley, followed by the sacred Memorial Chorten, where locals gather for prayer. Explore the grand Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body, before visiting the Folk Heritage Museum, which offers insights into traditional Bhutanese life. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through Thimphu’s markets and handicraft shops before settling into your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Thimphu to Paro & Tiger’s Nest Hike
Early in the morning, drive back to Paro for an exhilarating hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. The trek takes about 4–5 hours round trip, offering breathtaking views of the monastery perched on a cliffside. After descending, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch in Paro town. Later, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, followed by a tour of Paro Dzong and the National Museum, which houses historical artifacts and Buddhist relics. Spend the evening exploring Paro’s charming streets and local markets before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, enjoy some free time before heading to Paro International Airport for your departure, carrying unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s culture, landscapes, and warm hospitality.
